Q. What does the EDUCATION Foundation do and how long has it been here?
The Foundation raises and awards funds to meet the needs and aspirations of our Kindergarten through 12 th grade teachers and students that otherwise would not be available. The Foundation was formed in 2002.
Q. What is the mission of the Livingston Education Foundation?
To enrich education in the Livingston Public Schools through consistent community investment of time, talent, funding and other resources, providing students with superior education opportunities and experiences.
Q. Is the Livingston Education Foundation (LEF) funded by the school district?
No. The LEF is a volunteer organization that relies solely on donations from the community. It has a Board of Directors which serves as the organization’s structure and workforce and it is separate from the Livingston School Board. It is a legally incorporated, not-for-profit charitable and educational corporation in the State of Montana.
Q. What schools benefit from the Foundation?
The LEF serves the four public schools in Livingston- Winans Elementary, East Side Elementary, Sleeping Giant Middle School and Park High School.
Q. Where does the Foundation get their funding?
The funding is raised through donations from area businesses and individuals, corporate contributions, special projects, and grants. This is a grassroots effort that relies heavily on community members who want to invest in additional quality educational opportunities for our students. Every contribution helps no matter the size!
Q. What are some of the programs/projects that have been funded?
Elementary: Kindercamp; Guest Science Instruction from Montana Outdoor Science School for kindergarten and first grade; math manipulatives; math vocabulary cards; math reading books; videos; DVD’s, etc.
Middle School : Laptop computers and carts; robotics kits; graphing calculators; after school activities.
Park High School: Smartboards (interactive chalkboards), laptop computers; software; ecosystem; DNA analysis supplies; forensic science supplies; skeleton; weather station; graphing calculators; Vernier probes and software.
These programs and projects WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED at this time without funding from the Livingston Education Foundation. Over $200,000 has been awarded to the schools.

Yes. If you have a passion for educational excellence then this is the right place for you! Contacting LEF at 222-5266 or email at newlef@hotmail.com. Meetings are held monthly and terms last from one to three years.
Q. How else can I help?
Every student in the Livingston School District has been impacted at some point by Livingston Education Foundation funds and programs. In order to continue to offer these opportunities, the LEF needs to expand its donor base. Please consider becoming a contributor to the LEF today!
