LEF Enrichment Grants
1. Classroom Enrichment Grant ($500-$2,000):
- These grants cover programs/projects that enrich the curriculum and reinforce creative, innovative and imaginative thinking in the classrooms or in after school programs.
- Applicants must submit a proposal paragraph and may attend a grant writing workshop. Preliminary proposals are accepted in February and grants are awarded in April/May.
- We encourage projects that may need initial support before they mainstream into the district budget or get ongoing financial support from other sources such as state and federal funding and/or other grants. For example:
Field trips, Enhancement books and supplies used in a specific project, Guest workshops, i.e. artist, history experts, math whiz
- School Collaboration: projects that combine collaboration between grade levels, teachers and/or schools and a classroom activity or an entire school activity.
- Community Collaboration: projects that combine school improvement activities with area business and/or community partners.
- Classroom Enrichment grants may include professional development as part of the grant.
- Infrastructure needs are only granted on a limited basis after full review by LEF and District Administration. Infrastructure means objects that are part of the building/classroom on a permanent basis such as carpet, science lab table, cabinets, etc.
2. Focus Program/Project Grant ($2,000-$7,000):
- This category is for grants that require more funds than allowed by the Classroom Enrichment Grant and may be applied for outside of the regular granting cycle. It is not intended to be used for people who did not meet the enrichment grant deadlines. The purpose is to meet unexpected needs or circumstances that may arise during the year. Permission granted case by case.
3. Professional Development Grants ($200-$5,000):
This category provides enrichment opportunities for educators. Open applications.
- Registration for accredited programs to be trained in:
- Innovative or creative teaching methods
- New curriculum
- Symposiums or Conferences held in Livingston for area teachers that advance the goals and objectives of the Livingston School District.
